About the Project

Marc Cain is a German luxury fashion brand, founded in 1973 in Bodelshausen. Known for premium women's fashion with bold patterns and vibrant colors, Marc Cain operates 300+ stores and shop-in-shops worldwide. The brand is a fixture at Berlin Fashion Week and stands for "fashion for confident women." During the pandemic, Marc Cain faced the challenge of presenting collections when live shows became impossible.

The Challenge

What Was the Problem?

The pandemic eliminated live fashion shows — Marc Cain's primary vehicle for presenting new collections to buyers, press, and consumers. The brand needed a digital alternative that would match the prestige and impact of a physical fashion show, not just a livestream of an empty runway.

Our Approach

How We Solved It

We produced a VR-powered fashion show with 4 custom-designed virtual characters — digital models wearing Marc Cain's new collection in a mixed-media presentation blending real footage with VR elements. The 2-month production created a fashion show experience that couldn't exist in the physical world, turning pandemic limitations into creative opportunity. 172 sessions proved audience engagement with the innovative format.

1

VR Character Design

4 virtual fashion models created from scratch — each with distinct personality, movement patterns, and styling that matched Marc Cain's brand DNA.

2

Motion Capture Production

Real movement data translated to virtual characters — ensuring natural, fluid runway walks that feel authentic rather than robotic.

3

Real + Virtual Integration

Mixed-media format blending physical set design with virtual elements — creating impossible fashion moments that generate buzz.

4

Digital Fashion Show

Full show production distributed digitally — 172 sessions reaching buyers, press, and consumers who couldn't attend physically.
